In 1971, it made a striking world debut with Gerry Lopez's brilliant surfing on the North Shore, and quickly spread among surfers around the world as a legendary super brand. Furthermore, its popularity became firmly established when the Hollywood movie "BIG WEDNESDAY" (Big Wednesday), in which it appeared in 1978, became a big hit.
