The First iPhone was released on June 29, 2007. Approximately two months later, on September 5, 2007, Steve Jobs announced a price reduction for the 8GB model (from $599 to $399) and the discontinuation of the 4GB model.
The 4GB model had an actual sales period of only about two months, and the quantity produced and shipped during this time was extremely limited. Apple lowered the price of the 4GB model to clear out inventory, but even then, the numbers were very small.
In 2007, the culture of enjoying music with the iPod was already well-established, and users had high expectations for the iPhone's concept of "a mobile phone that can also be used as an iPod."
With 4GB, there was clearly insufficient capacity to store music, photos, and videos (although the image quality was still low at the time). The OS itself also consumed capacity, so the available free space for users was even more limited.
In other words, the reality was that it was a "model that was discontinued quickly due to poor sales." The remaining inventory quickly disappeared from the market, resulting in a rarity due to the extremely small number of existing units.
For the above reasons, the existing iPhone 2G 4GB model is extremely rare, and as "a part of the history of the First iPhone," it is highly valued by collectors, especially in the following respects:
Historical value: It is the first model that changed the history of smartphones, and the shortest-lived version among them.
Value of a "failure": Products that tell the story of "clear judgment errors" or "market elimination" in a product lineup are very interesting items for collectors. "Rare items" from successful companies like Apple are particularly valuable.
Capacity: 4GB
Condition: Many scratches overall. Liquid leakage.
Cannot be started.
The power turns off. The battery is broken.
There are no signs of disassembly, so the serial number of the motherboard is probably the same as the back panel (not guaranteed).
Since the operation has not been checked, it will be treated as a junk item. Returns and refunds are not accepted. Thank you for your understanding.
