Description
Vintage solid silver canoe brooch featuring a raised paddle with blue enamel lettering reading “DEL WATER GAP," referring to the Delaware Water Gap, a well-known scenic destination along the Delaware River.
The canoe form is finely rendered with engraved plank detail, giving the piece strong character as an early American travel souvenir. Crafted in solid silver and stamped “SOLID SILVER" on the reverse.
The brooch is fitted with an early C-clasp closure, a pin-back style commonly used in the early 20th century before the introduction of modern safety clasps. Both the clasp type and the marking are consistent with American souvenir jewelry produced circa 1925–1940, making this a desirable pre-WWII example.
